Seriously people. You are in a freeroll where a dude (ALCANTHANG) pulls out all the stops to get you in... and you don't even show? WTF is wrong with you? Have you no gratitude? I find it to be pretty low class for those who don't go that extra mile to show. I know that I have personally skipped out on a couple of family dinners and have also cancelled other plans, just to take advantage of this amazing oppoortunity. I mean seriously, WHAT THE FUCK? I even skipped the Keg last night. The money I won would have almost paid for my steak and crab too.
I will accept all reasonable excuses. However, you must realize how frustrating you are to the rest of the table that did show up. I mean it takes almost two hours for your stack to blind off. It is retardedly annoying to see people continuously try and steal those blinds. One person usually does all the pushing around and the others try to take a stance. Sure enough the bully sucks out on the dude with the better hand who has enough of that stealing blinds shit and they get ass fucked.
My point should not be misunderstood. I love me some dead stacks. In any other tournament I would be happy. But when Al goes to the lengths he has gone to and does whatever he can to try include EVERYONE then that is where it gets ridiculous. There are some bloggers who are not even part of the free roll, heck I even saw Shrike railing for most of the tournament and then realized he was not in it. Not sure how that happened, but I am glad he is on the rail for obvious reasons. I am sure there are others too.
Seriously, show up or shut up.

I agree.....but it's freaking hard.
Last night, I was cooking dinner, reading with the kids, and missed about 75% of the hands.....but I tried at least.
6PM Sunday nights, I've already missed 2 fam dinners at the inlaws for it too......but only 3 more to go.....
Give'em hell. You would think that FT could set up an allow list tho so that if someone ain't gonna be there they just not register rather than just entering names in the tourney. Or is this how they already do it and people are registering and not showing? Either way it sucks that they aren't taking advantage of the opportunity presented.
Thanks for the shout-out ... Al does a great job for us and we darn well should respect the work he puts in ... sadly have to skip this week's BBT events for Canucks games. Should be playing the next freeeroll though as Al said he'd get me in.
Also, I'm looking to fix my blogroll issues as I too want to abandon Bloglines. Suggestions welcome.

Al is awesome for setting up the freerolls!!
Sometimes things come up that are more important than poker and people can't make the Sunday night freeroll. I think that there should be an unregister option (like FTP has or used to have for other freerolls).
My daughter had an ice skating show, so I wasn't able to log onto FTP until 1 1/2 hrs after it started. I would have unregistered if it was an option

Normally I would disagree with you on general prop betting purpose, but there are some occasions where family or in my case a work commitment where I'm trying to get a vital piece of equipment fixed so a 100,000 watt radio station can stay on the air keep me from the game.
Look I understand that with 100 + people in the freerolls that it makes it hard when you start out with a full table and some tards get a table of free chips.
It is just like the Blogger tournament on stars. Even though I was stealing chips like they were going out of style, I didn't move up the leader board without going against competitors who were willing to give me all their chips at once :-)
As for the BBT, it once again is the easiest and yet hardest competition in the world.
I still believe that if you can outlast the pros and competitors that Alcanthang put in this shindig, you can be competitive in ANY poker tournament.

I understand that life gets in the way. I get that, it happens to me all the time. This is a bit different because I don't think there is better value out there at a chance for a ME SEAT! I mean seriously. First you need to finish in the TOP 2 in a FREEROLL to get a seat, then it's anybody's game with only one more tournament in your way? Win 2 and you are in? Ok sure!

Dude, not everyone thinks a seat to the Main Event is all that important. As frustrating as it may be, who cares whether someone shows up to the table or not. It's their stack, they can do whatever they want with it.

Is it that you have to email Al each time or if you email him, are you thrown into all the invitationals? That's the question right? I mean if you wanted to be in the invitational but you can only make 3 out of 5 or however many invitationals there are, that makes sense. You'd have a point if everyone had to email Al each week (like registering for a tournament).
I think that's the key differentiating factor.

It's a slap in the face IMHO. Not to me or you, but to Al. I answered the e-mail out of excitement for the opportunity. If I wasn't going to make it, I'd have the stones to let Al know.
