There was a time when Boomer (as his mom coined early on, just as she gave nicknames to all her kids and husband) was a tall, lanky fella who dominated youth league baseball in grades 8 (probably even earlier) through 10. He never looked back. Jeff went to school with Lola and to this day they are still friends (although mostly through cyberspace since graduating). I asked her the other day if he played any other sports when they were younger and she said "He played basketball until grade 10, then decided to concentrate on pitching"... I have a feeling it started a little earlier than that, but regardless, he's now in the spot light of the Big Show... the Series. Lola and I were watching his post game interview after he won game one of the NLCS and she said "It's weird to hear his voice without it cracking like it use to."
All you die hard ball fans who think Colorado does not deserve to win this year are just. plain. dumb. eh.
Another two degree'r is also in relation to a guy I currently work with who used to be his cub scout leader before his voice even learned to crack. Small world sometimes.
10 game winning streak (and not just any 10 game winning streak), read about it here and especially here. Talk about chemistry. That rookie Toulawitzki is fawking sweet at SS too. Actually when you look at it, they might go down as one of the best "teams" ever. period. If they rattle off four more in a row (which is highly unlikely as you only need to look as far back as last year's matchup to know that 10 days rest is not recommended... but I think they are doing the right thing by going to their spring practice facility) you've gotta think they are right up there.
Needless to say, most baseball fans in my part of town are Colorado Fans and have been for a a few years now.
So if we ever meet, you'll be three degrees from a possible 26 year old Ace pitcher and World Series Champion.

The best thing that could happen to Colorado now is for Cleveland to end it. If this series drags on, Colorado could be at a significant disadvantage.
The Rockies run is sick. As sick as the Steelers run 2 yrs ago when they won the Superbowl (was basicallly in playoff mode since week 11). Wooooot!!!
