I'm cruisin' along in the top 10 for most of the night in Mookie. I'm chip leader for a good portion of the second hour. Katiemother had been raising my blinds every chance she got. She was on my direct right and decided to raise me again out of the SB. I look down at A-10 and decide I am going to put an end to this stealing madness. I re-raise almost all of her stack... and she cold calls... leaving 3k of her 16K left (I had her covered by about 1k). So the flop comes 9-9-7... she shoves. I think and tank. I put her on a big hand, a real big hand QQ-AA.
So what do I do? I fold. I am a moron. I am dumb. I should have just clicked call... like why the fawk would you fold here? Never again. Pot odds are your friend. I lost my mind and I can't even say that I mis-clicked. Damn you Ax (including AQo). I had you probably 15 times last night and you gave me nothing in return.
I was playing very solid poker up to that point. I had not sucked out once, I was getting better than average cards (for me that means a few pocket pairs and flopping a set twice and getting paid) and I folded when clearly the pot odds say that I should have called. Two over cards and I fold? What the fuck was I thinking? Get a grip. I knew I was beat. That is all I can say. But you still need to call here, no excuses!! Regardless, it was over by then and I should have called in the hopes that she had a small pocket pair or any sort of connected King. It still stings. I know you've all been there, but have you ever folded getting such great odds? I doubt it. Me dumb. I just hope she reads this and tells me she honestly had Aces.
So needless to say, I was on tilt. I was talking to RecessRampage and thankfully he talked me out of playing any more poker for the night. He probably saved me two buyins, minimum (Thanks bud). It was that bad. So after donking out in 11th place (of 60) what does Katiemother do the very next hand? She gifts all of her chips away to Drizz! Fawk. Well played...
I decide to listen to BuddyDankRadio for a while longer as it's probably the funniest thing going right now during these donkfests. For some reason I kept calling InstantTragedy "bayne" in the chat. I really thought it was Bayne on the radio, not IT. I kept trash talking bayne as he normally does to me (especially about my striped shirt). When it was all over (Congrats Mike_Maloney) I finally realize that it was not bayne... Me dumb again. A special thanks goes out to BuddyDank as he took me as one of his picks to win the Mookie. Thanks for the jinx dink. You're the best. Warning: if BuddyBoy ever takes you as one of his picks for a prop bet... you're doomed!
Then I go to sleep and I have a dream that I'm just about to tee off in a golf tournament when I decide it would be smart to grab a cactus by the thumbs... WTF... In this uber exciting dream I spent the next 20 minutes pulling out cactus spines out of each thumb with tweezers. Analyze that. I made my tee time, just barely.

Moving on. I have to. Sometimes I think that just writing this stuff out really does help. I am able to focus on the next task and put whatever it is that was bothering me behind me.
I better shape up here, and fast. I've got a deepstacks tournament at the FCPC tomorrow night. This non-poster will be there along with Simon and few others that I have only met once. Deepstacks really interest me and the fact that there are only 10 people makes it all the more interesting (sitngo time). I'm not going to go into details about strategy as I know that these two guys might use it against me... but I look forward to walking out the winner if I play, for the most part, the way I was playing last night. I just know that when I re-steal, I'll actually have the cards this time...

Live cash game - analyze this
I managed to meet up with some buds for the back 9 last night prior to flingin' some chips. We then headed over to "Wrong's" place (I've mentioned him before - a total maniac at the table) for some $0.50/1.00. This game is pretty funny, we all buy in for $20, and before we even finish an orbit... rebuy! and then another, and another. The Maniac was running hot and cleaned out all three donk-people within the first 20 minutes. My plan was to pick my one spot to double up. I pulled that off and continued to play tight.
I was then dealt J8h in MP and limped. I did a lot of limping knowing that the maniac was raising every hand 5 chips ($2.50) blind. I call with position and we see a flop with 3 players. Flop comes 4-6-8 rainbow. Maniac checks, EP bets 10 chips ($0.50 each obv.) and I call (mistake #1), and so does the Maniac. The turn is a Jack (sweet). Maniac checks again, EP goes all in for another 15 chips.
Here is where I lost my mind for a moment. I called (again! mistake #2). This gave the Maniac the odds to call and as I called I was thinking to myself (oh great here we go again).
The river - a seven. He bets 20 chips and I call. He flips over - nine five offsuit! fawk. I hate not playing correctly every single hand. It can be quite costly. In fact, even playing J8 sooooted is a donkey play IMO. Suck it up time.
I'm in disbelief and I donk off and rebuy. I continue to donk off, and I get down to about 15 chips and get two red Aces. I decide I am going to slow play these suckers or just go home. I play them as ultra slow as possible (actually I limped very fast and the Maniac didn't even raise his BB). I end up tripling up when the SB calls with AK (TPTK) and a flush draw calls my all in. It holds.
Shortly after that I make the biggest call I have made in quite some time. I get dealt A3d and limp once again in MP. Maniac is in the BB and again he checks (in fear by now) and we see a flop. Flop comes A-3-6 with two clubs. Maniac checks, I check with two players behind. Button bets 10 chips, the Maniac calls and I call. The turn is another 6. Yikes. The Maniac bets 20 chips, I raise 20. The button folds and the Maniac calls, of course (donkey). The river is another none connecting club. The Maniac bets another 40 chips and I really read him for weakness. I considered raising, and really tanked for a good 3-4 minutes. I eventually called and he flips K3 soooted. Donkey. I did sweat it a bit, but eventually made the right call... I think... maybe I should have raised... but there was just too much out there that could beat me.
No poker tonight, but another round at the Keg with both sets of parents will safice. I love steak. Combine that with lots of laughs and a pint of Heineken and you've got yourself a nice Tuesday.

Easy come, Easy go
Ok I lied. I can't stay away from the golf course. I'm playing on Sunday (weather permitting of course) with the usual crew. My original plan of going to Victoria fell through, so that opens up the day for a relaxing day of golf, which I rarely seem to accomplish these days. So it will be nice to not have to worry so much about my score, or my villan's score etc. Sure we usually play a game of 2-2-2 with KP's and what not, but it is always much different than when I am in a serious competition for some sort of trophy and all that comes with such a victory. Beers are usually involved on days like this, along with... well you know.
I jumped onto FT last night after a nice dinner at the Keg with my best two buds and Lola of course. The two buds are expecting their first little one and it was a great night to get out and celebrate their first ultra sound. I splurged and added a lobster tail to my already perfectly cooked Fillet (no bacon) medium rare, with a twice baked potato and some broccoli with some cheesy goodness on top. Ok I'll stop there, if you really want to hear about good food, check out this guy.

Lucko Lasted Longest
It comes as no surprise that the guy that got it all started for me, lasted the longest in the big show - The Main Event. While possible awesomeness loomed as Day two progressed, we all knew that there was a very very long road ahead and many fonkey's to avoid if Mr. Sucko was going to make a serious run at this years title. J8o takes him down. I really can't express how it must have felt to get taken out that way. All I can say is.... so rigged.
As I now embark on a journey of cash, I realize that the K man was the guy that gave me some very basic tips that have given me the confidence to LAG my way to profits on a not-so-regular basis. Add in a couple of years of solid experience and I can positively say that "Lucko is the reason I am where I am today (in poker)."
I can't end this props and pimpage session without mentioning the numerous tournaments that he has won in the plus two years that I have been a student of the student. You da man K man.
My goal is to qualify for the WSOP. If that means winning a $1500 ticket like Hoy did this past year, then so be it. If that means winning a main event seat like this guy or that guy or this guy, then I'll take it. It's a mine field as we all know. So it is going to take some serious luck. All I can do is keep trying, and keep grinding.

My thinking with the $14 overbet on the river (is this a bad move? make sense?) was that I really hoped he put me on Ax and thought I was just trying to steal the pot. Hoping he had 66-1010, but in reality he probably had a weak Ace himself. Good fold by him I guess.

Golf Update:
I lost my match on the 17th hole last weekend. I guess you could say I was still on tilt (Golf tilt does exists) from my 2nd place finish in the Club C. I really played like shit and could have taken down the first round match with ease if I had just played ABC golf. I was too aggressive in all the wrong spots (sound familiar?). Oh well, time to enjoy the sunshine this weekend.
I think I'll be taking a break from both golf and poker this weekend and relax with friends by the pool, BBQ some various meats and have a few bizzy's (no change there).

Played in the Mookie last night. I really used to do well in this thing (I am right around the top 20 for the YTD earnings apparantly). I am not sure if I can blame it on being rusty anymore either. Am I getting worse, or are others getting better? Now that it is a deepstacks tourney, I'll have to rethink my strategy a little... and maybe try get to the third hour next time. I made some nice plays and chipped up to about 4200 early on, but went totally card dead and tried to make too much out of nothing when being patient is the true secret.

Mookie & Dookie
Nothing to report for the Mookie. I basically played almost every hand I was involved in wrong. Rusty. Donked off 1.5 buyins at the $0.50/1.
But I did do this:

The title says it all. 3 rounds, 54 holes, I lose by one. It was obviously a lot to ask of myself, but I really thought I could still pull it off if I shot under par on the final day.
Saturday started out just fine. 37 on the front nine and in good position to post a low score on the first day. My luck, however, ran out on the 18th hole when I hit my drive down the left side and it rolled up against a tree trunk. My only options were to chip out sideways, or try to pull of some sort of ridiculous left handed shot. I opted to do the smart thing and chip out... but didn't exactly pull it off and left my ball in the rough still. I ended up making double bogey on 18 to shoot 3 over 75 on Day 1. The leader shot 69 and I was already 6 shots back.
Sunday seemed to be a little tougher. I am not sure why but I think I put too much pressure on myself to catch up. It's sort of like the feeling you get when you know you are short stacked and the blinds are starting to escalate (somewhere in the middle of the tournament). You think to yourself "I have to make a move soon" but in reality, if you stay patient, good things will happen. Long story short, I didn't pick the right cards to play at the right time so to speak. In other words, I flew a few greens on the front nine, hit too much club and made a few too many bogies. 78 on Day 2, but the leader shot 77. I was heading into the final round 7 shots back, and was sitting in 4th place.
I decided not to play in the Big Game and take my chances. I was sitting in 48th place and figured there were only 3-4 people that could realistically knock me down and out of the top 50. It never happened though! I am very lucky to be included in this freeroll, although I did get some much needed points last week to keep me afloat.
When I woke up on Monday morning I was feeling great. I wasn't nursing the usual hangover from Canada Day as I was smart enough to stop drinking at around 10pm. I had a nice breakfast and made my way to the course at about noon. Monday was the final round of the tournament and my last chance to make a run for the title. I had to put up a good number in order to even THINK that I had a chance. Realistically, I was playing for second (4 shots back on the final day). After all, the guy that had the lead for the entire tournament played for Team Canada in a Junior event only 2 years ago. How could I expect him to just give me the win? I really didn't think I had a chance, but in golf, you just never know...
I birdied 8 and 9 to shoot even on the front nine. I had heard that the leader had just put in the water on 8, so I was still in it and probably only 3 shots back at the time (There was a lack of information on where everyone stood, so it was a bit of a guessing game). I figured I'd just try my best to go low on what would be my last 9 holes of the tournament. I made par on 10, 11, 12,13. I absolutely crushed a drive on the par 5 14th where I only had 185 yards left to the green. I knocked it on and two putted for my birdie. I was now 1 under par and the nerves were starting to creep up on me as I began to realize just how close I actually was to winning this. I made a two putt par on 15. 3 holes to play.
Crushed another drive, and was left with 95 yards to the pin. Here is where I think I lost it. I hit it a little thin and it flew beyond the pin to the back of the green. I had a very tough downhill chip and I ran in by about 20 feet. I missed that putt and recorded my first bogey on the back 9. In hindsight, I need a caddy for those situations. There was just too much going on in my head that the time. I actually even told myself I was at the final table LOL. If I could do it all over again, I would have just chunked one up there and made a simple par. At the time I remember thinking that I needed one more birdie. I went for the win and it didn't pay off. Oh well. I made a great par on 17 and actually an even better bogey on 18. I'd have to say that the second shot I hit on 18 was one of the best shots I had hit in my life. I was in the club house as the leader, and the final group was coming up 18.
There were probably 50-60 people watching at this point. The two day leader hit his approach shot short of the green. The pressure was mounting and I was ready for him to just hand me the trophy. If he could somehow make a bogey, we were going to a playoff... I crossed my fingers and hoped. He hit his chip about 7 feet from the pin. At the time, everyone thought that all he had to do was two putt (make a 5 for the win). Little did we know, he had to make it. And he did. He made a 7 foot side hill slider for the win. Obviously I would have liked to get a shot or two back over the weekend, but overall I am happy. It always stings knowing all the "if I had only done this differently..." type of moments that you want back. I can't do all the "what if's" though. I am proud of how I played, especially on the final day. It is something that I will be able to recall for many more tournaments to come.

He almost choked and gave it to me... not really a bad beat per say, but it sure stings knowing how close I really was.
That makes 3 2nd places in my last 4 tournaments. Although I keeping winning prizes for 2nd, it is never as satisfying as actually winning... which I have yet to do, so I can really only imagine at this point what it truely does feel like.
Now it's time to prepare for my first match in the match play this weekend and defend my title.
I played in the MATH last night. I got schooled by Cracknaces when he turned his set of 8's. I then got my Aces cracked by Lightning after I smooth called his preflop raise from MP with pocket 10's. He hit his set and IGH. I am glad to see that he made use of the chips and finished second to none other than Mr. Lucko himself.
Saturday started out just fine. 37 on the front nine and in good position to post a low score on the first day. My luck, however, ran out on the 18th hole when I hit my drive down the left side and it rolled up against a tree trunk. My only options were to chip out sideways, or try to pull of some sort of ridiculous left handed shot. I opted to do the smart thing and chip out... but didn't exactly pull it off and left my ball in the rough still. I ended up making double bogey on 18 to shoot 3 over 75 on Day 1. The leader shot 69 and I was already 6 shots back.
Sunday seemed to be a little tougher. I am not sure why but I think I put too much pressure on myself to catch up. It's sort of like the feeling you get when you know you are short stacked and the blinds are starting to escalate (somewhere in the middle of the tournament). You think to yourself "I have to make a move soon" but in reality, if you stay patient, good things will happen. Long story short, I didn't pick the right cards to play at the right time so to speak. In other words, I flew a few greens on the front nine, hit too much club and made a few too many bogies. 78 on Day 2, but the leader shot 77. I was heading into the final round 7 shots back, and was sitting in 4th place.
I decided not to play in the Big Game and take my chances. I was sitting in 48th place and figured there were only 3-4 people that could realistically knock me down and out of the top 50. It never happened though! I am very lucky to be included in this freeroll, although I did get some much needed points last week to keep me afloat.
When I woke up on Monday morning I was feeling great. I wasn't nursing the usual hangover from Canada Day as I was smart enough to stop drinking at around 10pm. I had a nice breakfast and made my way to the course at about noon. Monday was the final round of the tournament and my last chance to make a run for the title. I had to put up a good number in order to even THINK that I had a chance. Realistically, I was playing for second (4 shots back on the final day). After all, the guy that had the lead for the entire tournament played for Team Canada in a Junior event only 2 years ago. How could I expect him to just give me the win? I really didn't think I had a chance, but in golf, you just never know...
I birdied 8 and 9 to shoot even on the front nine. I had heard that the leader had just put in the water on 8, so I was still in it and probably only 3 shots back at the time (There was a lack of information on where everyone stood, so it was a bit of a guessing game). I figured I'd just try my best to go low on what would be my last 9 holes of the tournament. I made par on 10, 11, 12,13. I absolutely crushed a drive on the par 5 14th where I only had 185 yards left to the green. I knocked it on and two putted for my birdie. I was now 1 under par and the nerves were starting to creep up on me as I began to realize just how close I actually was to winning this. I made a two putt par on 15. 3 holes to play.
Crushed another drive, and was left with 95 yards to the pin. Here is where I think I lost it. I hit it a little thin and it flew beyond the pin to the back of the green. I had a very tough downhill chip and I ran in by about 20 feet. I missed that putt and recorded my first bogey on the back 9. In hindsight, I need a caddy for those situations. There was just too much going on in my head that the time. I actually even told myself I was at the final table LOL. If I could do it all over again, I would have just chunked one up there and made a simple par. At the time I remember thinking that I needed one more birdie. I went for the win and it didn't pay off. Oh well. I made a great par on 17 and actually an even better bogey on 18. I'd have to say that the second shot I hit on 18 was one of the best shots I had hit in my life. I was in the club house as the leader, and the final group was coming up 18.
There were probably 50-60 people watching at this point. The two day leader hit his approach shot short of the green. The pressure was mounting and I was ready for him to just hand me the trophy. If he could somehow make a bogey, we were going to a playoff... I crossed my fingers and hoped. He hit his chip about 7 feet from the pin. At the time, everyone thought that all he had to do was two putt (make a 5 for the win). Little did we know, he had to make it. And he did. He made a 7 foot side hill slider for the win. Obviously I would have liked to get a shot or two back over the weekend, but overall I am happy. It always stings knowing all the "if I had only done this differently..." type of moments that you want back. I can't do all the "what if's" though. I am proud of how I played, especially on the final day. It is something that I will be able to recall for many more tournaments to come.

He almost choked and gave it to me... not really a bad beat per say, but it sure stings knowing how close I really was.
That makes 3 2nd places in my last 4 tournaments. Although I keeping winning prizes for 2nd, it is never as satisfying as actually winning... which I have yet to do, so I can really only imagine at this point what it truely does feel like.
Now it's time to prepare for my first match in the match play this weekend and defend my title.

Analyze This
I rarely post hand histories here and I'm not sure why. So I figured... why not? Many of the cash game players that I read usually post some sort of analysis of a hand or two on a regular basis. Well, I am not a cash game player, but I aspire to be one. So I thought I would post a few hands from last night's session (after getting a few points in the Riverchaser). Speaking of the Riverchaser I thought that thing started at 6:30 PST when in fact it started at 6pm... goes to show you how many of these BBT events I've actually played in when I don't even know the start time. I showed up 45 minutes late and 1/3 of stack was already gone. Managed to chip up right away and stick around for a while. Ran my BB QJd into Alceste's Aces when I flopped the donkey TP and IGH.

Reverse Blog Jinx
On various occasions I've run accross a blog or two that seem to be a bit supersticious when it comes to making predictions or hoping for the best on their blog. Usually it is followed up by a second post cursing the fact that they shouldn't have written such things and that the blog is to blame. That somehow the poker/blogger gods got together and have made life miserable and "unlucky" for this person because of all the hopes and dreams that they have written about in their tiny private space. This is my observation.
The truth is, it's all bull. I mean seriously, I don't even think I need to go into any sort of detailed explanation as to why. The fact is, we all have bad days/unlucky days at the tables. Period. Just because that you wrote about it does not change anything. But if it makes you feel better and more comfortable, then go for it! After all, it's yours to do what you want. I think I might just give it a try and test this theory myself once and for all. Am I totally contradicting myself here or what...? Ahhhh pffft, who cares. Whatever it takes!
My Math adventure came to an abrupt hault, as did the $75 token frenzy in back to back hands. In the Math I had KK twice in the BB early in the tournament. I think I miss played them both, equally as bad. The first time it folded around to the small blind (Cracknaces) and I raised it preflop to 3x. The flop came out low and unconnected, he checked, I bet trying to represent a continuation bet, he folded. The second time I decided to play it a bit differently. I smooth called the button 3.5x raise from the BB and saw the flop. The flop comes 9-9-J. I check he bets the 390 pot (does everyone bet their sets now??). I raise to 800, he pushes, I say FAWK, and make the crying call. He flips over A-9 offsuit, and I go home. I think a re-pop preflop was needed there. Just bad rusty ass poker. Of course then I proceeded to donk a couple buyins at the cash tables for good measures... tilt!
That's what you get for playing more golf than poker. However, I will gladly take golf over poker right now, this week.
So in light of my recent discovery that posting all about how I am going to make a deep run this week at the BBT points, I'm going to listen to my fellow bloggers and just sit on the virtual writting sidelines and see how it turns out.

It's on now!
In what amounts to this potentially being my biggest week in golf and in poker, I will kick it off by attempting to catapult my way through the not-so donkerific MATH tonight and work my way back up the BBT leaderboard. This week, my schedule is jammed with work, numerous buckets of range balls, chip shots, flop shots and five footers. In between and throughout the week I plan on attending the MATH, baseball, The Mookie, Riverchasers, baseball and then the big golf tourney on the weekend with the possibilty of the Big Game thrown in on Sunday if it all comes together as envisioned. I also plan on playing in the $75 token frenzies on those poker nights, so come on out and join the blogging group in an effort to totally dominate this regularily scheduled 6:45pm PST nightly token grab for only $15 a crack.
After getting in a good practice session each night this week I plan on hitting up the next 3 tournaments of the BBT in order to lock up my top 50 spot and ensure my place in the freeroll. My focus is golf... for now
Al just posted when the freeroll for the BBT will be taking place... and wouldn't you know it, I will probably have a playoff game (the finals) that night for baseball (if we make it past the first two rounds). After last night's mookie I now sit on the oustide looking in at 51st place. With only 5 events left, I really need to buckle down and make the effort to at least get the invite... regardless of whether or not I'll be able to attend. Either way, when I make the top 50, I'll make every effort I can to get in on that free money action. It's a no brainer.
So for now... golf is my focus. I have a couple of big tournaments coming up. The first one is match play (I am the defending champ) which I had already qualified for last week. I shot 76 which seeded me in 5th out of 8. The top score was 71 by a guy that really isn't playing too great these days so he must have had something going for him right that day. My first match is actually against the guy that I beat in the finals last year, so I need to be ready for that match more than ever. The match isn't until July 8th which should give me plenty of time to prepare.
Prior to that I will playing in the annual Club Championship (stroke play). This is the one that I really want to win. I've had a few top fives over the years, but I've never really been close come the final round. This year it will be different. I am hitting the ball better than ever, and if I can get the putter going then I really just need to stay focused and play my game. It's a 54 hole tournament that takes place next weekend and I'm pretty pumped about it. In fact, I wish it started this Saturday instead of next... but it just gives me another week to work on some stuff that I know will come into play come game day.
It will be interesting to see where I am at on July 1st with regards to both golf and poker. You see, Monday July 2nd is the final round for golf (Stat Holiday for us Canadians as our country turns another year older) and the fact that I could potentially be sleeping on the lead for that tournament is exciting to me. Couple that with MiamiDon's big game on July 1st, I plan to use poker as a good way to keep my mind off of golf for a few hours, hopefully get enough points to qualify for the BBT freeroll and as a possible added bonuse - make a little cash to boot. It's a lot to ask of myself, but overall I look at that day as great challenge where I will use everything I have worked for to the test all on the same day! Can't wait.
I get chills right now just thinking about the chances of pulling off something special. However, I must be realistic. My chances in poker are far less than in golf on that specific day. I can't exactly win the golf tournament on day 2, but I can surely lose it. Just as in poker, one false move can end a tournament run very quickly. I must remain focused on the shot at hand which I tend relish when the moment presents itself.
I've had some really good feedback from various peeps and I really do appreciate all the kind words. It was fun to give Jordan the direction he was looking for in order to harness those creative juices of his. Thanks again and again sir. As I already said, beers are on me when we meet up this December.
Hopefully I will be there for this Sunday's event, however since Horse is not something I put high expectations on, I might skip it all together to play some more golf and get a good practice session in. If this takes place, then of course I will be under even more pressure to come up big at the Math, the Mookie and the final River Chasers event. It's going to be a game time decision with factors such as the weather, how hung over I am and my overall mindset with regards to poker in general that will all be taken into consideration prior to playing that afternoon.
I also really want to get in on the 50/50 one of these evenings, but don't plan on multi tabling it like Astin did last night. I believe he cashed in 30th place. Nice work Astin!

The New Look - High on Poker Props
Here's the new banner and new look that Jordan has been slaving away at... Thank you sir. He did an excellent job and I really appreciate all his creativity and hard work. Together, I think we've nailed it.
Under Par Poker says it all for me. If you can't figure it out, I'd be happy to explain. However, if you've been a visitor for a while, then you'll surely understand where I'm coming from. Being an Under Par Poker player, to me, has everything to do with being well above average. I draw similar parallels to Jordan's reflection of being a 5 percenter. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, I sincerly suggest that you do ASAP. After reading it a couple of times, it really has made me think and refocus on what I really am here to accomplish. Some of this has made me re-evaluate my poker goals along with my goals in golf and in life in general. Needless to say, it's been a real eye opener.
Hopefully this new look and focus will re-engergize my will to post not only about my thoughts on poker, but bring further insight into my golfing adventures.

The postless wonder
It seems like forever ago since I wrote something. There are various reasons for this such as being away all weekend, being very busy last week etc. As you can tell, I haven't been playing much lately in the BBT. In fact, I still sit at a total of 9 events played with 6 remaining. Which means I'm going to have to work damn hard over the last 5 events (can't make the Mook tomorrow either, but plan on playing in the last 5) to ensure that I stay in the top 50 (I've slid all the way to 49th now!). Anyway, there are a lot of cool things happening out there and I only wish I had more time to enjoy them. And those are just my morning coffee. I'm still surfin' and readin' as much as I can, but lately its been hard to come up with good things to write about. I hate the third Sunday in June, so that might be another reason I was struggling with a post. It's a long story which I am sure I will share here one of these days. It could probably turn into a short story if I really wanted to go that way. Happy this, Happy that, not me sorry. I guess it will all change one day when I start my own family and build new traditions. That is my mindset anyway.

WPBT event #6 (non vegas), live cash game
Well a total of 4 players showed up for the non vegas WPBT event #6 and it finished like this:

It took all of about 23 minutes for the tournament to end. No deep stacks, 1500 chips and a lot of gambling. Bdidde's 10's got cracked by Ddionysus' 9's which left Bdidde with 30 chips left. I was then dealt AA on the very next hand and took down Bdidde to ensure I wasn't first out. What a great time to get aces... and that was it. I never got another hand. I eventually pushed the the almighty powerful A5o from the BB and got called by A10. GG me. Oh well. I was hoping to see a better turnout, but can understand that having it in the middle of the day on a Saturday makes it difficult for some to attend. Couple that with the fact that the LIVE version of the event is taking place in VEGAS right now supports the lack of turnout for the online event.
Recessrampage showed up to watch and actually wanted in, but couldn't find the password. I gave it to him for next time, and I appologize for not checking my yahoo in time to get it to you.

Last night I ended up at the River Rock. I wasn't planning on playing, just drinking. After a few coctails and some horse races, most of the crew headed home. There were three of us degenerates still mulling about so myself and Penskie decided to play some 1/2. I sat down in the BB and the guy on my right said to me "you have to post." I said "naaaa" and everyone looked at me funny. I wanted to check out the table and post when I wanted to, not when they told me to. So I sat out for the first 3-4 hands and set up my image right from the get go. I eventually posted and folded the first few hands.
Eventually, an orbit later, I was dealt K5d on my BB. Someone in MP raised it to $10, 4 callers including the cutoff, the button and the SB. The flop came down Ac-3d-2d. Remember this is the first pot of the night for me, and I have been sitting there for about 15 minutes so far. SB checks, I bet out $20. The CO raises all in for about $120. The Button raises all in for $175. The SB folds and I am stuck. My mind froze. Obviously the 4-5 coctails I had earlier were taking effect (why don't I learn). So what do I do?
I have the 2nd nut flush draw, a straight draw (although the 4d only counts once) and there are two guys that have just pushed in front of me. Surely someone has the Axd right? I mean why would anyone reraise an all in without at least an ace...? So after about 5 minutes of grinding the SB called the clock on me. I really wanted to call, but didn't want to lose my stack that quicky (insert the "you've got no balls" comment here). Needless to say, I folded. the turn is a 7d completing what would have been my winning flush and the guy that reraised the all in guy on the CO flips over.... 4d6d. Fawk! I could have been sitting pretty for the rest of the night but because of my lack of focus, lack of balls and lack of understanding of the odds, I folded like a gutless chickenshit. I continued to beat myself up as the button raked a huge pot towards him. I was frustrated and red in the face from the get go, and it showed. I really was choked. I had the odds to call (can someone please confirm that though?) but why didn't I?
Anyway, I moved on. I had to, it is the only thing you can do at the table. Move on damn it! It took me a while, but I did. And it paid. From there on in I controlled the table for the next two hours. I was pulling off monster bluffs and steals lke nobody's business. It just seemed right, easy and my confidence was high. I even showed an old man my 47h bluff to the river when he called me down with who knows what. I made one more big bet (after some nice stalling tactics) and he insta folded. The dealer chick was so happy. I tipped her, and she said that she hated that old man. He was mean and a big fat racist. 10 minutes later, he left. Weird.
Penskie was sitting accross from me in the 4 seat (I was in 9) and we got into a pot. I limped with 78c and he limped with 79d. The flop came 7-7-10. I check, the guy to my left bets $10. Penskie calls, I call. the turn is J. I check, the other guy checks and Penskie bets $25. I stop, and I raise it another $50. Other guy folds. Penskie thinks, and calls. The river is an Ace. I check and he checks and we split the pot. Good times. Good night. They split our table and instead of moving, we both cash out. I cash for the big $186 and he cashes for $180.
Man there are just so many donks out there it is nuts. Live cash is where its at. I wish all of those fellow bloggers that are in Vegas right now the best of luck at the tables. Right now there are putting faces to names, and probably pounding booze and planning their dial-a-shots to AlCanthang.

If any of you are interested, check his post out, and send us a challenge. He is also trying to set up a little moeny tournament that I think would be fun. So go to Chesshere.com and register. As far as my background on chess, well there isn't much. I have been playing for much longer than I have poker. However, ever since poker hit the scene for me about 4 years ago, I haven't played, until now. So its been a bit of a relearn for me, but its been lots of fun so far. I enjoy the strategy of it all. Much like poker, there is a lot that goes into chess. Deception is key. Faking out your opponents and thinking as far ahead of them as you can will always go a long way to ensuring long lasting success.

It took all of about 23 minutes for the tournament to end. No deep stacks, 1500 chips and a lot of gambling. Bdidde's 10's got cracked by Ddionysus' 9's which left Bdidde with 30 chips left. I was then dealt AA on the very next hand and took down Bdidde to ensure I wasn't first out. What a great time to get aces... and that was it. I never got another hand. I eventually pushed the the almighty powerful A5o from the BB and got called by A10. GG me. Oh well. I was hoping to see a better turnout, but can understand that having it in the middle of the day on a Saturday makes it difficult for some to attend. Couple that with the fact that the LIVE version of the event is taking place in VEGAS right now supports the lack of turnout for the online event.
Recessrampage showed up to watch and actually wanted in, but couldn't find the password. I gave it to him for next time, and I appologize for not checking my yahoo in time to get it to you.

Last night I ended up at the River Rock. I wasn't planning on playing, just drinking. After a few coctails and some horse races, most of the crew headed home. There were three of us degenerates still mulling about so myself and Penskie decided to play some 1/2. I sat down in the BB and the guy on my right said to me "you have to post." I said "naaaa" and everyone looked at me funny. I wanted to check out the table and post when I wanted to, not when they told me to. So I sat out for the first 3-4 hands and set up my image right from the get go. I eventually posted and folded the first few hands.
Eventually, an orbit later, I was dealt K5d on my BB. Someone in MP raised it to $10, 4 callers including the cutoff, the button and the SB. The flop came down Ac-3d-2d. Remember this is the first pot of the night for me, and I have been sitting there for about 15 minutes so far. SB checks, I bet out $20. The CO raises all in for about $120. The Button raises all in for $175. The SB folds and I am stuck. My mind froze. Obviously the 4-5 coctails I had earlier were taking effect (why don't I learn). So what do I do?

Too good to be true
I knew it. I just knew it. Who do I think I am anyway. I am not a cash game player. I have said this over and over here. I am not sure what I was thinking really? One winning session does not make a player. One winning session does not give you the balls to call off what you thought was a stone cold bluff. Get a clue. Sometimes people really do have a hand.
So yeah, that $200 injection into my BR is officially gone. I played an hour of $.50/1.00 last night and bought in for the max. I am not going to go into the bad beat this time, or the ridonkulous play on more than one occasion by myself. I have no one to blame but me. Sometimes I really feel like I can compete at the higher levels, other times I feel totally lost and make the wrong move on every street. Ahhhhh fuck it. I am not giving up on cash games. I just need to take it more seriously. I guess the other reason I dropped a full buyin last night is because I tried to two table that action. Wrongo. Not smrt.
So it's back to the tourney grind for now. This is where I had increase my BR to begin with. I'll continue to dabble a bit on the cash side, but I will really need to look at the timing of when I choose to play, and put in a REAL session of more than just an hour so that I can get to know my opponents a bit better, and make the right decisions as often as possible.

Variance sucks.
I decided to play some 1/2 for exactly 1 hour last night before packing it in. I went with the "buyin short" method ($80) which may not have been the way to go (but has worked in the past - play tight and double)... Nothing exciting happened for the most part. I had AA, QQ and got paid a little, but never was up more than half a buyin.
That dwindled away quickly and as the hour mark approached I decided I would see the rest of the hands until the blinds came around again. There was about 1 minute left in my 1 hour limit when I pick up AA in MP. A limper in front, and I limp as well hoping that one of the two big stacks on my left was going to raise it up. Sure enough the button pops it to $11, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls and I raise it to a total of $25 (was this too thin? do I really want to take the pot down right now? $47 would have been a pot size raise). Button calls and UTG folds. 2 players, perfect, let's see a flop. The flop comes 10-Q-K with two clubs. I jam for my remaining $60 which is just under the size of the pot. The button auto calls and flips 10-10. I miss everything and shut down the computer before the chips are even shipped.
FAWK. 80.5% favorite preflop means nothing. Damn set mining bullshit. Maybe I should have just pushed and taken his $11 and called it a night. That's one mookie entry right there! I played double up and go, and it didn't work.
I knew variance would get me sooner or later.
Congrats to Waffles and Hoy for respectively finishing 3rd and 2nd in the Riverchasers last night. Waffles got donktastically sucked out on when he flopped the nut straight and jammed.

What is your level of compete?
I just finished off 4 days in a row of golf. The weather was perfect. The golf, of course, was not. I did however manage to finish second (yay me) in the Pro-Am I played in which netted me a few good prizes. However, first is always, and will only ever be, what I care about winning. Sure it feels good to "hold my own" and not choke all the way out of the prizes like last year, but I had a chance to win and I couldn't pull it off. There's always next year.
I did pick up one of these and I have not doubt it will improve my game... in fact, it already has!
So as I drove into work today, I was thinking about the different levels of competition and how seriously some people take the various aspects of their craft(s). For me, it's all about winning. I think I speak for most people when I make such an obvious statement. Why else would we play? For some, sure it's about the money (they need it to survive and it is their primary source of income). For some its the fame, the recognition etc. But for most, it's just about winning. No matter what it is. A truely competitive person will tell you that it doesn't matter what the match is, the goal is to win. Simple. Sure money is a nice reward, but ultimately it is ALL about winning. Playing to "get in the points" or playing for second or third is often a last resort (or it should be). Anyone who says they are playing "for fun" either sucks at what they are doing, or has no interest in getting better. Either way, those are the ones that feed us, and they are the ones who will continue to donate and donk.

Cash game goodness, Stanley Cup predictions
Last night started out with an early exit from the $18K guaranteed... I registered via a $75 token that I had won a few weeks back in one of those juicy token frenzy's. I had been waiting for the right opportunity to use it up, and since there was no Riverchasers to play in, I went for the $18K. 350 players, and I think I went out somewhere in the middle of the pack. Card dead, and passive play were the reasons for my demise. In fact, I don't even think I was up over 2K in chips for more than a few orbits. It was pretty frustrating.
After that I decided to play a little cash game. However this time, I wasn't going to just play in the "bankroll managable" game. I was going to take a shot at a bigger game. I've been telling myself for a while now that I know I am good enough to play at higher levels... but never had the roll to support such a risk. Well, I decided that I would jump up a level and see how I faired. As expected, the play is not much better. After scoping out a few tables, I decided to jump into a full ring $1/2 NL game where the plr/flp was 25% (the lowest of any tables I could find). I recall when Astin was here for a visit, he gave me this tip and I decided to use it. It worked out very well. I bought in short ($80) planning to play tight early and establish the proper image. I even waited for the blinds to come around and made notes on my opponents for the first few hands. Then, it happened. My first hand I was dealt 5d3d and called the SB preflop raise. I flopped a straight and managed to play it well enough to double up on my first hand of the night:
I played for another hour and here is how I finished:
The only other hand that stood out was when I held pocket 9's in the BB. The devil lady Kitty raised it 3x and it folded around to me. I called hoping to trap her, and although it didn't really turn into a trap, I did manage to double up. The flop came 4-4-4... and I checked my full house hoping that she had an Ace. She bet out the pot, and I min raised her to see where I was at. I was a little nervous at this time as she quickly called. The turn was a Queen and this time I bet the pot... she raised and after some thought, I went with my initial read and re-raised all in. She flipped over A-K and I dogged the river. Phew. It felt good to make that call. It's those kind of calls that really keep me interested in cash games, even though I don't play in them that frequently. I found, that when I do, and I pick the right game, play my game and play what I perceive to be "correct poker," I can hold my own. So another $200 added to the BR in about 1.5 hours. Needless to say, cash games are where the money is. It's been said many times before, and up until last night, I hadn't really experienced the potential for some serious part time earnings. I look forward to working on this part of my game in the near future.

The Stanley Cup Finals are almost here. I've been making my picks for fun here on this blog, and for the most part I have done ok.
Here's a couple of quick stats before I make my decision:
1. Since the inception of the Stanley Cup, either a Canadian team or the Detroit Red Wings have won Lord Stanley's Cup in every year that ends in a seven. Yes that's right, every year. Since the Red Wings are now out... well doesn't that mean the Senators are destine to win?
2. If you want to really cheer for a "Canadian" team then you need to cheer for.... The Ducks. They have more Canadians, in fact they have SEVEN more Canadians on their team then the Senators. The Ducks have 19 Canadians and the Senators only have 12. So.... the Ducks will win? Ask Smokkee.
My Pick: I have to stick with Ottawa. Sorry Astin, but it has to happen. The Leafs will never win the cup again, that we know for sure. Ottawa obviously gives us our best chance to bring that Cup back to Canada. Edmonton was close last year (game 7 loss to Carolina), but I really think that the Sens are the better, deeper, hungrier team. I'll take the Sens in 6.

Recap and bookface
I've figured it out. All else being equal - I play more, I get better results. That goes for golf and poker. Started off slowly with a round of 80 on Saturday... bleah. I played in the Big Game on Sunday and limped to 12th place with NO cards to speak of. I had QQ, 1010 and 33 once... that's it! A few suited aces and I almost made it to the final table. So I am happy with that, considering it was my first Big Game. Monday rolls around and I play golf again. This time I double bogey 18 for a 2 over 74... a bit frustrating, but a good sign. I can take the positives and apply it to this weekend as I prepare for a Pro-Am on Monday and Tuesday. $$ to be made for sure. I then played in the MATH (MTM = My Third Math) where I final tabled and finished 8th ofr some nice points... but no cash.
I think I am on to something here... play more!! practice more! win more!

Here is my sister's take on the latest worldwide addiction - facebook. I thought it was pretty funny and stresses the importance of continuous face to face contact. Human contact is becoming less and less of a priority these days for some, and it is important to remember the way it used to be, before we became so dependent on a computer as our primary communication tool.

I play less, therefore I'm rusty
It makes sense doesn't it? It's just like anything else I take seriously. It'd be nice to say my poker game and my golf game are inversly related... but they're not. I'm equally as rusty in golf and poker when comparing the amount of time that I have spent working on both skills. Poker is a game of imperfect information. Golf is a game of imperfect concentration. Poker takes flawless concentration. Golf takes physical domination. Soak it in. The major difference between the two is... you guessed it? Luck. Sure ok, I guess getting a hole in one is lucky. In fact, the odds are roughly 8,000 to one. Needless to say, it's no coin flip.
Which brings me to tonight's point grab. I believe it was either Hoy (congrats on second place) or Al (Mr. double me up) that said it would be a fold fold fold fest. I played in the Riverchasers, as planned, and they were bang on. My goal was to get some points as I knew I'd be heading in a bit rusty (see title). Well I accomplished that, and then a bit more. Nothing spectacular at all. In fact it wasn't until I doubled up right around the first hour mark when my limped aces held against Al's BB hammer raise preflop did I squeak past the bubble. Why race with over 20 BB's? I wouldn't normally do that. It just tells me that if you don't play on a consistent basis, you'll eff it up sooner or later. Unless, you win the races. So I gambled and it didn't pay off. Doubling up at that point would have put me 3rd in chips and in position to make the final table. I just lost my concentration.
As I reflect I realize what a silly move it actually was. The mistake I made was gambling too early. Just as in a golf tournament, you want to gamble when you believe you must do something spectacular and get lucky that you don't screw it up. In Poker, it's all in how the cards fly once the chips are in the middle. Get lucky, move on up. Get unlucky, there's the door.
If you gamble in golf, it usually results in a higher score. It could even mean not winning a tournament, just as in poker. Gambling in golf and not coming through is a combination of both the inability to hit the shot in the first place and the mental concentration to excecute.
It's time to set some new goals:
Play more golf, and get better. Prepare for upcoming tournaments.
Play better, correct, poker.
Make the right decisions and maintain continuous concentration and focus.
Have fun.
The problem is finding the time to do both well enough to be satisfied and feel a sense of accomplishment. I just wonder if that will actually ever be possible. There's always going to be room for improvement, that goes without saying. But will there ever come a point in my life where I don't think I can get any better? Yes. It certainly will come sooner in golf than in Poker. However, I won't let that stop me and I guess it makes sense to play more golf right now, this summer.

Which brings me to tonight's point grab. I believe it was either Hoy (congrats on second place) or Al (Mr. double me up) that said it would be a fold fold fold fest. I played in the Riverchasers, as planned, and they were bang on. My goal was to get some points as I knew I'd be heading in a bit rusty (see title). Well I accomplished that, and then a bit more. Nothing spectacular at all. In fact it wasn't until I doubled up right around the first hour mark when my limped aces held against Al's BB hammer raise preflop did I squeak past the bubble. Game 5 final
Remember this post? Well after they won that game, they lost on Thursday and then tied it back up on Sunday with another exciting shoot out finish. Tonight is the final game with all the braggin' rights up for grabs. Should be a very exciting game and will be the only reason that I don't show up at the Mookie this week. I really need to play in more of these as my total tournaments in this challenge equals six so far. I am sitting at 45th place right now, which is totally unacceptable, although I haven't played in an event since I was ranked about 24th. I do, however, plan on playing in the following events if at all possible:

Damn it, I've been tagged
I was hoping to fly under the radar as I jumped around the various blogs and noticed that people had been "tagging" each other... whatever that means. I don't really see any instructions listed anywhere but from what I can gather I am supposed to just write seven things about myself that no one knows and then tag 7 people... I don't even think 7 people read this blog on a regular basis... but here we go (oh and thanks a lot Kitty Kat!):
1) 6 years and one month ago to the day I went in for both lower and upper jaw surgery. I had a large underbite and they moved my top jaw forward 1cm and my bottom jaw back 1 inch. The surgery took 5.5 hours and after they were done... it just did't look right. So I went back a month later and they fixed it after another 1.5 hours. I don't regret any of it one bit. Benfits included losing 17 pounds ( I didn't eat bread or drink beer for 3 months and my meals consisted of blended anything and everything... I even tried mac'n'cheese in the blender and I don't recommend it at all... ew).
2) In grade 3 we used to chuck apple cores at big trucks from the school yard as they drove by in the morning. One day I hit a truck, it pulled over and the guy got out and chased me. I was so scared I ran into the bushes and eventually came out in tears. I got suspended.
3) Speaking of suspensions, I also stole the grade 9 socials provincial final exam with two other buddies. We got caught (thankfully in hindsight) but only because one of the guys ran down the hall screaming "they got the final! they've got the final!!" Sure enough the good ol' church girl turned us in. I got suspended, didn't have to write the final and still came out with a B (did I mention we had the key to his briefcase?)
4) My best round in golf is 8 under par (64). 6 birdies and eagle. no bogies. I don't think I will ever repeat it, it was just one of those days where everything came together. I was a putting machine and hit every par 5 in two.
5) I've been golfing for almost 20 years and I still don't have a hole in one. I am not sure if I'll ever get one... it's such a crap shoot anyway, but I'd still like to luck out one day.
6) I came 4th in a national accounting exam... 3 spots got recognized and paid. Totally rigged.
7) My cat Frank thinks he is spiderman. I recently caught him climbing up the stucco of our apartment building trying to meet up with the cat the floor above us (we live on the 2nd floor). He has also just learned how to jump on the railing and within less than a second spring himself 5 feet horizontally accross to an adjacent roof overhang type thingy. Needless to say, Frank is not allowed on the balcony unsupervised any more. He's looked like a flying squirel! I clipped his hind leg when he went for his last jump and he fell to the ground a little stunned. He only has 6 lives left now...
Ok so now I have to tag people. I am not sure if they have already been tagged, and I am not even going to notify them of such. If they read this, they will do the right thing and bow down to the this silly ritual as did I:

Have a good weekend everyone. I'm off to a stag in Whistler where there'll be lots of booze, golf and poker...

Crazy times
Well Tuesday is a day where I don't usually have a poker game, in fact, I really don't enjoy playing poker on Tuesdays. So when I heard that my buddies' hockey team were playing in game 2 of their division one men's hockey league, I decided I would check it out. I've been a "fan' of their team for as long as they have been around (not going to date myself here in this blog just yet) and watching their games have always been high paced grindfests. At one point I told my buddy that they need to play "loose aggressive" to achieve the come back that they were about to encounter. Sure enough they were down one nothing when something happened that I surely did not expect. Parls made some contact with a guy on the way into the corner and when he came out of it... his should was dislocated... for the 10th time...
Needlesss to say he was thriving in pain, and he knew exactly what had happened. He immediately headed to the end of the long bench which was currently occupied by the 3-4 defensmen on the team. Now I am no expert on shoulders, especially dislocations. In fact that is was the first time I had seen such a thing live, right there in front of me. It seemed almost like a dream at first. I was smiling and I actually thought for a second "is this guy faking?" It was a weird sensation. I didn't want to over due it and panic, I wanted him to remain calm, and recall the other 9 times that it had happened and asked him what we should do. Eventually he instructed us to pull and release, and twist and turn his shoulder and forearm. He would scream, and then feel relief, and then cringe and whine a little. He was only about 6'3" and a solid 240 after all... but that is besides the point. So after about 10 minutes of this, and some guys concerned that we should call the ambulance, I continued to pull and twist. Nothing was working. I was beginning to get worried, just like his team mates. Was it time to call someone for help?
Then all of the sudden... it pops back in! Just as he expected, but no one really knew for sure, at least it seemed that way at the time. It was very weird and just one of those things that came out of no where. Anyway, he sat out the rest of the game and the team played short handed from there on in. They managed to come back and score a tying goal late in the 3rd period. Then it was overtime. In this league, however, they only play a 5 minute running time over time period because of time constraints. No one scored to settle it, so it was time for the all exciting shoot out! Only one guy scored, and it was a beauty eh. He ripped a shot just under the glove side of the goalie and that was all it took to win it. No one else could score and their goalie was easily the best player on the ice. As the saying goes, goalies win championships.

NHL Playoffs Round 3
I said I would do this each round, so I'm sticking with it. The fact that the Canucks are now on the golf course makes this a bit more difficult because I honestly don't care as much anymore. I am sure that others are feeling the same way about their teams as well.
Here's how I did in the second round:
The West: I went 1-1 with the craptastic Ducks beating the Nucks in 5... The Red Wings basically domintated the Sharks and won it in 6 games. Expect some changes in San Jose during the off season. I wouldn't be surprised if their coach gets fired sooner than later.
The East: I went 2-0, although both Buffalo and Ottawa were much more dominate than I expected. I look forward to a great match up here in the third round.
Here are my picks for Round 3:

Obligatory non-poker post.. & Canucks in 08'.
I know I don't "owe" it to anyone to post something here on a regular basis and I am sure that all my readers/writers (yes, all 20 of you now) can understand where I am coming from, but I just haven't felt like I've had much to say about anything. Especially Poker. The reason for that is because I'm not playing much at all lately. You see, as predicted, I've been rather busy with the "good weather sports" over the past few weeks. Golf is my primary focus right now, and with a few tournaments coming up I feel the need to be out in the fresh air working on my game, and not playing poker. Just as in poker, I've got leaks in my golf game that need constant maintenance and care. Lately, I've really really found the need for one of these. This thing will improve my game and make me a more consistent player, no doubt. I just need to find a good deal, and shipping costs/requirements are always such an issue with me living in Canada. I might just bite the bullet soon and shell out the 4 bills, because it is THAT worth it.
This blog isn't going anywhere, I just need to figure out what to do with it over the next few months. I still read numerous blogs on a daily basis, I know that won't change. I always make it a point to pop by those blogs that have taken the time to visit mine.
The other sport that will begin to take up more time is baseball. My mixed orthodox league started up last week and most of our games are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday... which means I don't plan on playing in too many MATH's or Mookie's over the next while. Of course, when ever I am at home on those nights, I'll be buyin' in as I do want to keep pace with the rest of the crowd and ensure that I get into that juicy final tournament. It just means that when I am in these tournaments, I'll just have to focus that much more to ensure that I at least get some points, and hopefully while grinding, find myself sitting at the final table and attacking those fonkey's to ensure I get a bit of a return on my investment. I have no doubt it will be tougher to accomplish considering I am playing less, but I am ready for the challenge.
The other reason I haven't posted much... is because I am still stung from that beating the Canucks too from the Ducks. The Ducks are just a better team. They pretty much dominated the entire series (although games 2-4 could have gone either way) and if it wasn't for Roberto Luongo I have no idea where we would be right now. However, what I do know is that this is just the beginning and the Canucks will be bigger and better than ever come October for the 07-08' season. Size, power and goal scoring is what we need now, and I know Dave Nonis will get it right once again in this off season and make the necessary adjustments.

Blogger meeting #2
Meeting up with Astin tonight at the River Rock. Should be a good time as we slug back some beers during the Canucks game. Then it might be a little 1/2 NL action for dessert. It all depends on how the Canucks do. This game is so huge. Each game they play is always the biggest from here on in. So if they do well, I'll be in the mood to sling some chips and I still might look into this Sunday's $550, 500 player JC tourney if I double my buyin tonight. However if I have more than three beers, I think I'll have to get pretty lucky to do that...
Fuel will also be there, and it will be an all Canadian Blogger meet up, piss up and chip up.
